Partnership Grants
When our community comes together, incredible things happen for Richardson ISD students and staff. Partnership Grants turn generosity into lasting impact—supporting programs that open doors, spark curiosity, and help every learner thrive.
These grants are a testament to what’s possible when we invest in public education.

Student Access & Opportunity

Curious to know what these grants make possible? Here is a look at some of the impactful initiatives we’ve supported.
Arts 4 Science Summer Research Program @ UT Dallas
High school students gained real-world experience in a cancer research lab led by Dr. Nikki Delk, where they spent two weeks testing cells, learning lab techniques, and presenting their findings. This immersive opportunity gave aspiring healthcare professionals a firsthand look at biomedical research and sparked deeper interest in medical careers.
RISD’s Annual Backpack Bash
The Richardson ISD Backpack Bash helps students at high-need elementary schools start the school year ready to learn. With support from the community, each child receives a new backpack filled with essential supplies—and the confidence that comes with being prepared.
Berkner High School STEM Center Expansion & Field Trips
Made possible by State Farm, the expansion of the Berkner High School STEM Center & Immersion Studio gives students a chance to imagine, create, and problem-solve in new ways. RISD third graders experience the space, working together on hands-on challenges that spark curiosity and confidence. Students leave inspired to explore STEM and carry those skills into the classroom.
We Read Together
We Read Together brings community volunteers into RISD classrooms to support early literacy development. By mentoring young readers, volunteers help students build the skills they need to read, write, and thrive. Grant funds provide program materials and literacy incentives, including book vending machines at participating schools.
